$10,000 Prize-winning logo (blue on white), awarded in 2005 by The Trinidad & Tobago Steel Pan and Jazz Committee. (fonts added after competition.)
The challenge was to integrate both Steelpan and Jazz elements into a logo that embodied the spirit of the festival. The best way to accomplish that was to create a humanoid figure where we could get that vibrancy reflected in the body posture and facial expression. The elements of the pan do double duty by mimicking the hands and feet of the man. Also a saxophone was chosen as the instrument seemed to be the one most associated with Jazz.
